CHALLENGE
GL, or Galeria Lourdes, situated in Quinta de São João near Funchal, in Madeira, serves as a significant cultural space and art gallery. The challenge was to develop a graphic identity that not only captured the essence of the gallery but also resonated with its diverse range of exhibitions and events. The graphic identity needed to be simple, but also distinctive and adaptable to various themes and contexts.

APPROACH
Taking charge of the proposal and system for GL's graphic identity, I approached the project with careful consideration of the gallery's architectural features. The key focus was on utilizing features of the gallery's unique building, especially its remarkable angle, as the defining element of the graphic identity. Drawing inspiration from the architectural design, I developed a visual language that reflected the gallery's modern and dynamic character while allowing flexibility to adapt to different exhibition themes. This involved creating a cohesive system, shapes, and typography that could be applied across various materials and platforms.
